Cabagnow Cave Pool: Anda’s Biggest And Stunning Cave Pool To Enjoy

Some Cavern might be dark and mysterious, but there are caves that hide—and reveal—magical, underground oases for swimmers and adventurous spelunkers looking to explore a new frontier. Anda’s true jewels, however, are the natural pools hidden in its numerous caves. One of the stunning cave pools is the Cabagnow Cave Pool. The water is so clear that swimming in it is like floating in space.

Anda, Bohol is known for its powdery white sand beaches with crystal clean waters and caverns with stunning and inviting cave pools. And just before I visit Anda, Bohol, I knew that leaving Anda, Bohol without visiting the famous Cabagnow Cave is like committing a weighty sin that would be real hard to forgive. Hence, after truly enjoying the sunrise scene on Quinale beach, we went to the eatery near the public market to have our breakfast and immediately got back to our Hostel to check out.

I knew that time that it was too early to check out of our hostel, but we need to go to the Cabagnow Cave Pool as early as we can to elude the possible crowds. Hence, we immediately settle our bill and went to Anda’s Public market to look for a Motorela or locally known as Rela. Right after we agree with the driver’s price, we immediately went to the Cabagnow Cave Pool.

Cabagnow Cave Pool or locally known as Kabagno Cave Pool is blessed to own a refreshing crystal-clear waters that have been slowly filtering through the limestone and forming the Pond’s features over thousands of years. It is situated in the southeast part of Bohol, where Anda is located, which is mostly formed of limestone. And because of the innate nature of the rock, which is soft. The consistent movement of water and other geologic activities, this has led to the formations of caves, not merely in the municipality of Anda, but in many parts of Bohol.

The Cabagnow Cave Pool has an estimated of 20-25 feet deep, which is enough to swim and enjoy its clear water. And leaping out from the cliff has an estimated height of about 15-18 feet, which is enough to make your knees shaking in fear. It is peacefully located at Sitio Fatima, Bacong Anda, Bohol. When you get close to its beauty, it appears like a normal hole, but it hides an enchanting cave with natural pool that a visitor can dive into.

True enough, in less than 20 minutes from the Public Market, we reached the jump off area of Cabagnow Cave Pool. The road from the Highway is bumpy, but very manageable. Then, we trek like around 10 minutes to get to the Cabagnow Cave Pool. Trekking in a footpath where there were green grass on the side, and not much presence of trees could be really hot, but since we were very early that time, the direct heat of the sun is really manageable. Shortly enough, we made it at the stunning and inviting innate beauty of Cabagnow Cave.

As we arrived, there were nearly 4 people who seemed to have started enjoying the Cave Pool a few minutes before we arrived. Two of them were truly enjoying the cliff jumping, which seemed to be really exciting. I immediately called for my friends to jump in the inviting Cabagnow Cave Pool. Marv was the first to Jump, followed by Aloysius. Juliet was busy capturing photos, so am I. Honestly, I actually wanted to take off my shirt that time and jump, but I was busy taking photos of my friends while they were jumping, since it takes a lot of courage to do cliff jumping. As soon as I had captured a good photo of Marv and Aloysius, Juliet then has no choice but to jump or else, no one would take a photo of her if I Jump in the enticing cold water of Cabagnow Cave Pool first.

Shortly enough, it was my turn, my knees were shaking. I remember that I was next to the girl who’s shuddering on her knees, I really understood how the fear made her. But she was fearless enough to jump. Hence, I was next, I was in fear, but I couldn’t run away from my fear, so I breathe deeply and started leaping out from the cliff and fallen off to the bluish cold water while yowling to death.

I was drifting on the bluish cold water, yelling at my friends to take a photo of me. Truly, the water is refreshing and cold enough to beat the summer heat. While I was drifting on a turquoise water, I witness how the sun rays radiate blue waters, making a spectacle of rare beauty. I really wish I had waterproof Camera that time to capture such innate beauty while I was inside the Cave Pool.

What I also love about the place is that, it gives you choices that you can nonetheless enjoy the Cabagnow Cave Pool without doing cliff jumping. They have installed a mighty iron ladder that tourists can use to move down and douse in the enticing cave pool. There’s also an available ring buoy, which I guess is truly a big help, especially if you don’t know how to swim, just ask the caretaker of the place.

And just before we were about to leave the place, a flock of tourist and travelers began to arrive. We were lucky enough that we went to the Cave earlier or else we would not exclusively own the cave pool during our visit. After truly enjoying the innate beauty of Cabagnow Cave Pool, we decided to depart for our next cave pool destination, which is the stunning tiny cave pool of Combento Cave Pool.

  1. In India, “Anda” means egg. Haha! But here it’s such a beautiful place in Bohol with the Cabagnow Cave Pool located in it. The cave pool is so beautiful but i am not sure if I would jump in it. Even my legs would shake like yours, but the fun followed by it is guaranteed. Great post!
